Hello,
I am configuring Jira service desk cloud to allow a client to order custom parts. The data for the custom part comes through a separate system and is stored in dropbox, but that data only contains production specifications not shipping data.
I am hoping I can have JSD pull folder names or something (through some custom api no doubt) and display them in a custom field so that a client can send the manf data through the existing system, then login to my service portal, select the correct ID, add their shipping details then submit. The ID would then be removed as an option from the custom field as its been claimed, and staff then then process the order having received all the data they need.
Any tips or ideas?
Hi,
The app Elements Connect lets you pull data from a couple different datasources into dynamic custom drop down fields, but having the data in dropbox might be a bit tricky. Currently you can pull data from PostegreSQL, MySQL, MS Server, MS Azure, and Oracle is coming soon.
If you have 20 minutes, our product manager would be happy to chat to learn more about your use case to see if the datasource you need could be developed.

Hi @mart ,
In case you are still evaluating solutions you can also look at External Data for Jira Fields which should cover your use case with a custom API endpoint. The app offers plenty of connection options and has support for JSM (former JSD).
Feel free to open a support ticket in case you have any questions.
Best,
Thomas
