We have agent notifications turned on for Issue Updated. However because we have a lot of automation that takes place directly after an issue is created this is going to send out multiple emails to our agents. Is there a way within Automation to turn off emails being fired off for these changes?

If not how do other people handle this? :)

Thanks!

Hi Hollie,

When Jira's API allows it, we offer an option to not send emails.

In Cloud we offer this for the Edit issue action and in Server we do it for the Edit and Comment actions.

Unfortunately there is no way to make this a general suppression. Are there any actions in particular you want to suppress emails for?

Hi Nick,

Thanks for the reply.

The main one is on issue creation. We have a lot of automation that runs on issue created so it's a bit of a problem for us!

Thanks,

Hollie

Hi Hollie,

Unfortunately this is beyond our control. Jira does not provide us the APIs to suppress these notifications on Create.

Sorry we can't support this use-case at the moment.

Cheers,
