Link to other file formats in google doc

D square May 24, 2012

I understand the embedded documents are only available for the selected google docs file formats. However, we are using google docs as our main content management system and this includes other file types as well. It would be great to be able to link directly to any file in google docs (with permissions based on the owner / sharing settings), including other file formats without having to upload a copy to confluence.

Is this possible with your plugin? Or are there other solutions for this?

Hello Thomas -

Can you expand on your question more specifically - with some examples of other types of formats you are seeking?

The documents do not have to be Google-based. We support Office formats, since Google does too. We also support PDFs, most common image formats (jpg, png, gif), container formats (like ZIP and jar), etc.

Of course, depending on the function you are trying to do - the format applies or not. (for example, embedding a ZIP file does not make sense so much).

Are you simply seeking the ability to link vs. embed? (which we do in the JIRA integraton).

Please clarify your request ..

Best,

Ellen
