We're currently using Intercom to communicate with customers through our app, our customers like the direct chat function.
However we're looking for smarter ways of working as we're using Jira for task and sprint management, we're considering migrating to the service desk.
Does anyone know if it is Jira service desk Cloud has a chat function that could integrate with our app.
Has anyone done anything similar?

Our app Chat for Jira Service Desk provides the Chat feature in Jira, and the information and messages of the chat conversation are stored inside Jira as a ticket in comments. More details here.
