JIRA Cloud Automation - How to inform user that manual rule was executed?

Deleted user April 8, 2020

Hello,

is there any option to show a some kind of popup information box to the user when manual triggered rule was executed resp. its specific step was executed?

Thank you in advance,

David C.

Hello @[deleted]

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Unfortunately, the Automation for Jira application doesn't have an action to pop-up a warning when am automation rule is triggered manually.

Indeed, we understand that this can cause some confusion for the persons working a the time the rule is triggered, so we created the following feature request to implement this functionality:

Manual Trigger should show details of rule execution

Please, keep an eye on that feature request to know any updates about its implementation.

Let us know if you have any questions.

I have sent feedback with more suggestions and a little bit more general...
But no answer...

So I would prefer to have:
1) new action showing general alert (info) popup (window.alert("sometext");)
2) new condition showing confirmation popup (If windows.confirm"somequestion?");)

3) new action for getting user input to variable (smart value) via popup ({{variable}} = window.prompt("text";"default value");) , generally action for storing value in variable

4) new trigger for specific transition not only status change (or extend existing "Issue transitioned" trigger)
5) add new action for standard loops (for, for/in, for/of, while, do/while)

6) new condition specifying if manual rule is shown or not in issue detail

7) show manual rules in transition style instead of combobox ;-)

Hello @[deleted]

Thank you for the feedback provided.

This question is added with the Code-barrel flags, so it is absolutely in the eyesight of the PMs responsible by Jira Automation.

Have a nice day!
