JIRA Automation - Issue Types

How do I create a rule to prevent or restrict users from creating a specific "Issue Type"?

1 answer

Hi @VA ,

Jira Automation requires a trigger action. In your case the only trigger is the "issue creation". With automation, you can delete it after creation but can not prevent its initial creation.

If you do not want users create that specific issue type, why don't you remove the issue type totally from the project workflow?

Thanks for your response.

I have different groups of people using different issues types in my project.

Is there an option under User Roles that i can select to allow specific groups/users to create only specific issue types in my project?

There is a JIRA Ticket with funcionality which you are talking about.

Perfect Thanks ! I have voted.
