Issue Adding Custom Fields to Issue Collector Template

jsciame August 20, 2012

I'm having trouble adding custom fields to the Issue Collector. I've added fields with the types specified below, but they aren't showing up in the Issue Collector fields list in order to add them to the template.

Custom Field Types: Date Time, Radio Buttons, Multi-Checkbox, Multi-Select, Number, Select List, URL field, Version Picker, Cascading Select, Project Picker, Single Version Picker, Text Field, Free Text Field

What is the magic to get the new custom fields to be available to add to Issue Collector template? Do they need to be available to a particular screen?

Thanks,

In order for the fields to appear in the custom template of the Issue Collector, you'll need to ensure basically two things:

  1. The field is visible for the issue type defined in the Issue Collector. That is, make sure the field does not have a context so a specific Issue Type not set on the Issue Collector.
  2. And the field must also be available on the Create Issue Screen. If you have not customized your Issue creation screen, it should be then available on the Default Screen.

You can do it by referencing the custom field ID. See the documentation here:

Are there any possibilities of being able to have fields on the issue collector screen and not the create issue screen?
