If the custom field (drop down) "School Name" contains "Example school 1" and in another ticket the same field on the second ticket contains "Example school 1" in the "School Name" field, can these 2 tickets be linked together automatically? I've had a google and can't seem to get this working.
The context is that I want any tickets that have the same school name attached will automatically link together.
Any advice is appreciated
As far as I got your requirement right the following rule should do the work:

Hi Stefan
Thanks for this. Apologies since I'm still new to JQL but this hasn't worked for me unfortunately. Just to it's clear I want any tickets that have the same school name attached to automatically link together.
This is what I have so far:
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Your rule is trying to link the trigger issue to itself.
In the last action (the link action) add link to {{lookupIssues}} (see my screenshot)

@Stefan Salzl Apologies on the delay, I am struggling to figure out how you actioned your last action, not sure if I am missing something but I cannot seem to be able to get more options than "trigger issue" and "Most recently created issue", see below:
Thanks for persevering with this!

@Hi @Harry Bennett
The field also allows typing. As this is a smart value this cannot be chosen from the dropdown but can be typed in.

Ahhh was not so obvious at first glance! Thanks for letting me know, it's all working now.

Awesome! Glad to know you got that working 🙌🏼💪🏼

I would imagine that with the automation in cloud projects you could set up an automation where if custom field = X then it can create a link between them.
I'd look into the automations settings in your projects to see if you can locate and create a global rule there.
