Is it possible to add an Automation that will be triggered "after" an issue is created?

I want to check if a certain field; e.g Epic name, is empty after an issue is created. Tried adding it to the "Issue created" trigger as an if block. But it doesn't seem to work because it gets triggered every time irrespective of whether the Epic is set on issue creation or not. Would appreciate help with figuring out how to achieve this.

Hi Lina,

Can you share the rule that you have so far? Also, what type of project is it?

Finally, Epic Name does not show on individual cards - it would be the Epic Link.

Hi @Lina Mary Thomas

As I understand you - your automation rule is set correctly.

Rule should look something like this:

- trigger - Issue created

- condition - Epic name is not empty

- action

- note - limit this rule to single/multiple projects

It will be triggered every time when issue will be created in project and stop if epic name is empty.

In automation you cannot set something like "run rule if". Rule will run every time but no actions will be executed.
