Inserting Flash and Video files

Kim Seav May 27, 2012

Hi,

In Confluence, I've installed this Flash plugin then uploaded a two files, one is a flash file and the other is a mp4. I then used the Multimedia Macro to pick the file in the editor.

Flash file - It works well in ie7 and Firefox but doesn't work in Chrome (v 19.0.1084.52 m) and Safari (v5.0). Safari says that I'm missing a Plugin.

.mp4 - This does not play at all. I just see a black rectangle box. Please see attached (in safari).

I'm running Confluence V4.2.1.

What else do I need to install to make videos playable after attaching?

Thanks

Kim

For Firefox you can use Apple Quicktime player or VLC player (http://www.videolan.org/):

I ve some troubles with the VLC Web Plungin in FF: it need to be disalbed and enabled before you start a mp4 video.

For IE you need to have the MS Mediaplayer installed.
