Hello @Aysha.Mohammad

This is possible using Automation and I can help with that.

Before we get to the creation of the automation rule, please confirm if the 2 issues (The one which provides the value of the field and the one to which the field needs to be updated) are in any way linked to each other?

Kindly share the details on this and we will discuss the steps for the automation rule.

Regards,

Hi Gaurav

If you can see the below automation

when issue status is finished than auto create new issue within the same epic. I just want to copy the "TO" value of previous issue and display in "FROM" of newly created issue

Hope you get my point

Hello @Aysha.Mohammad

As per my understanding, you plan to copy the 'TO' value from the issue being closed and copy it to a field called 'FROM', available on the newly created 'TASK' issue.

In order to achieve this please follow the below steps:

  • When creating the new issue, use the drop-down 'Choose fields to set' and select the 'FROM' field (I have selected Fix versions in the example)

  • Click on the 3 dots next to the field selected
  • Select the option 'Copy from'

2.png

  • Hover over and click on 'Current issue'
  • For the 'Issue to copy value from' drop-down, select 'Trigger issue'
  • For the 'Field to copy value from' drop-down, select the 'TO' field

  • Save and publish the rule.

Kindly share the feedback. Please accept the answer if this helps.
