We recently uninstalled BigPicture after trying it out. But after uninstalling, it got removed from navigation and configuration settings, etc. though we can still see custom fields that were created as a part of its installation.

How to remove everything that BigPicture had created when it was installed?

How will we know what all custom fields or screens or anything else that it had created but is not yet installed?

Hey @Milan Chheda [INFOSYSTA]

To remove all app-related settings you will need to drop certain tables. Here you can find more info.

This, however, won't remove custom fields created upon BigPicture installation. You will need to do that manually - there are only a couple of them so this shouldn't be cumbersome.

Best,
Tomek

Thanks @Tomek-SoftwarePlant for the response.

A quick follow-up question on the same:

Will the tables, custom fields and issue links will be created again if I install the BigPicture again after few weeks/months? Or will there be any issue?

If installed BigPicture one more time, those items (custom fields, links, tables) will be automatically created again.

Best,
Tomek

Great. Thanks @Tomek-SoftwarePlant!

So just to confirm, here are steps to uninstall BigPicture completely:

  1. Go to add-ons and uninstall BigPicture
  2. Go to custom fields and delete the custom fields created by BigPicture / SoftwarePlant
  3. Go to Issue Linking and delete the newly created issue linking by BigPicture / SoftwarePlant
  4. Go to database and execute the below query to delete the table:
    1. delete s from propertystring s
      inner join propertyentry p on p.id = s.id
      {{where p.property_key = }}

That's correct @Milan Chheda [INFOSYSTA].

are there any additional steps to be taken for the deinstallation of BigPicture on Jira Cloud?

Any answer will be helpful on how to complete the uninstallation in the cloud version.

2 custom fields remain and are marked as LOCKED.

Hi @sai siva

You can find custom fields created by BigPicture by navigating to Jira administration (cog icon) > Issues > Custome fields and search by SoftwarePlant or BigPicture.

You can find the complete list of fields created by the App in our wiki here.
