How to customize customer portal in detail

I want to customize my cutomer portal, want to remove some stuff but I am unable to do so with limited options available in customize section.

e.g. I want to get rid of Learn more about and Monitor details part, its not relevant. Also, I want to make Need to raise a request bit bolder and visible as it is not very prominent at the moment. 

Your immediate reply would be really appreciated.

Have you gone to the Portal Settings under Project Settings for that project?

Thanks John! Yes I checked Portal settings but it has very limited options.

Just asking because your portal looks different than might after I customized it. Can you share a screenshot of your portal settings screen?
