How to copy value from the child multiselect field

Edited

Hello everybody

I would like to copy value from a dropdown field into a new field (it is triggered by status change). Dropdown looks like this (number 2 depends on what was picjed in number 1).

slika 1.png

I know how to copy values from usual custom fields, but not from this.

Slika 2.PNG

Custom field is 10277, selectedParentOptionId=10264 (from dropdown 1) and selectedValue=10265 (from dropdown 2). I need to copy value from selected value from dropdown 2). Any ideas?

Thank you!

Hi @Marijan Trnski ,

I think you can achieve that by using an automation rule triggered by the transition,

You can access the different values of this field using the following Smart Values :

  • 1 (from you first picture) is
    {{issue.fields.Cascade.value}}
  • 2 from you picture is
    {{issue.fields.Cascade.child.value}}

Let me know if it helps,

Guilhem

This looks easy :-). So i need to put value in a new field from custom field 10277 (this field contains this double dropdown) should it go like this?

{{issue.customfield_10277.Cascade.child.value}}

Yes exactly !

Not working i'm afraid :-(.

This is the url when i go to the Edit Option for Custom Field in the child:

https://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/secure/admin/EditCustomFieldOptions!edit.jspa?fieldConfigId=10480&atl_token=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx&selectedParentOptionId=10264&selectedValue=10265

Okay then I don't understand how your are trying to make this change, I was talking about an Automation rule what are you working with ?

With automation rule. I pasted url to you from custom field options in hope that these Id numers can help with automation. I tried exactly as you said, but the field does not fill when i make the transition
