Hello community,
I search for a possibility to check how long an issue stays for example in the state "In Analysis". I want to create a report/filter which shows all Issues that remains more than 5 days in a certain state before the issue is moved to the next/another state.
Is there a possibility to do this?
Thanks for suppport.
Regards, Michael
Thanks for reaching out and hope you are doing well !!
Well, Agile Tools app already contains Time in Status Reports.
Please navigate to “Agile Tools -> Time Reports “
More details available here -> https://rvsoftwares.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RVS/pages/14090425/View+Time+Reports
Thanks
Hello @Michael Kraut ,
I don't think this is available out of the box in Jira but there are many third-party plugins available which will help you meet your requirement.

Hi Mayur,
Thank you for the fast answer. I already found these apps, but if I understand these apps correctly they just show the information, how much time is spent within an issue state.
We do not log time in Jira. It is just important for us to find out, if an issue remains too long in a certain state.
For us it is important to see, that an issue "Problem" is analysed within a couple of days.
May be these apps can report this too, then I didn't found this information.

I think Time in status reports could be the perfect AddOn, but unfortunately it is not available for Jira server, only for Cloud and Data Center.
I asked if they can roll out the Addon for Server either. We already use the Agile Tools from RVS which is one of my favorite Addons in Jira environment.
Information will follow...

Thanks for your help, that would give me the information I need, just further work in Excel would be necessary.
May be the tool from RVS Time in Status Reports can help us more if they roll out for server (at least for one more year :) then we have to quit or move to cloud).

Hello @Michael Kraut ,
Jira does not offer this out-of-the-box, but the data needed for this report is available in each issue's history.
If you are OK with using a marketplace app for this, our team at OBSS built Time in Status for this exact need. It is available for Jira Server, Cloud, and Data Center.
Time in Status mainly allows you to see how much time each issue spent on each status and on each assignee.
The app has Consolidated Columns feature. This feature allows you to combine the duration for multiple statuses into a single column and exclude unwanted ones. It is the most flexible way to get any measurement you might want. Measurements like Issue Age, Cycle Time, Lead Time, Resolution Time etc.
For all numeric report types, you can calculate averages and sums of those durations grouped by the issue fields you select. For example total in-progress time per customer (organization) or average resolution time per sprint, week, month, issuetype, request type, etc. The ability to group by parts of dates (year, month, week, day, hour) or sprints is particularly useful here since it allows you to compare different time periods or see the trend.
The app calculates its reports using already existing Jira issue histories so when you install the app, you don't need to add anything to your issue workflows and you can get reports on your past issues as well. It supports both Company Managed and Team Managed projects.
Time in Status reports can be accessed through its own reporting page, dashboard gadgets, and issue view screen tabs. All these options can provide both calculated data tables and charts.
And the app has a REST API so you can get the reports from Jira UI or via REST.

As an alternative, you can try Status Time Reports app developed by our team. It mainly provides reports and gadgets based on how much time passed in each status.
Here is the online demo link, you can see it in action and try without installing the app.
If you are looking for a free solution, you can try the limited version Status Time Free.
Note: If you are interested in cycle and lead time, you can have a look at the article below.

Hope it helps.

You can use the Time in Status custom field type of the JMCF app for that.
