How do I resolve a Service Desk issue when the linked issue is resolved?

This seems like a pretty basic use case, but I can't seem to figure it out. 

 

We are using Service Desk to receive requests. Those requests then trigger child issues to various other Jira projects. Once a child issue is resolved, I would like to close the issue in Service Desk. Is there an automation that looks for the status of a linked issue to resolve the issue in the Service Desk project?

Yes, this can be done using automation. Your rule would look something like this:

In this example, when a change request is completed, resolve any linked service requests.
