How can I use automation to change the status of a task from project 1, if the status of the associa

Kseniia Z January 26, 2023

I have three projects:
1. Content
2. Design
3. Development

All shuffles in projects with the same type - Story

I have a Server Jira

I've already created links:

a) if in project 1 the task gets to the status Waiting for design -> create a new task in project 2 to the status In progress (tasks in project 1 and 2 are linked as "relates to")

b) if the task in the project 2 is in Design Ready -> create a new task in the project 3 to the status To work (tasks in the project 2 and 3 are linked as "relates to", so we already have three related tasks in three different projects)

I can't implement it:

- Now I need, when task in project 3 gets status To work - in projects 1 and 2 the initial task also passed to status To work

- Then, when the task in project 3 gets to the Done status - the task from project 2 should get to the status Preparing screenshots.

Help, please, if possible on the example of the scheme

Hi @Kseniia Z

Welcome to the community!

You may want to take a look at this thread: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Service-Management-articles/JSM-Jira-Automation-How-To-Synchronize-Statuses-between-Linked/ba-p/2247012

It uses automation to do something similar to what you are trying to achieve.  The key is to use the "Branch" feature that allows you to move between linked tickets.

I hope this helps.
