How can I set all issues to in progress if min. one subtask is in progress?

Manuel Offermann July 30, 2020

Hi,

I have created a an automation that an issue will be set to in progress if min. one subtask changed status to in progress. This works properly for Story + subtasks, but not for Epic, which is important for PO.

This is my rule.

How can I activate same rule for all issues? Epic - Story - Subtask.

Thanks :)

Hi Manuel,

It this a Next-gen Project? Because if it is, there is not currently a way to handle Epic links in Automation for Jira with Next-gen Projects.

However, it should work for Epics for Classic Software projects.

Hello John,

it is not afaik. But I am just an user not administrator of our Jira.

How can I figure out if it is a Next-gen project?

Next-gen projects will have a note down in the bottom left corner of the screen:

It is not there, so we it is not a next-gen project.

Is it possible to include Epics in automation rule?
