Home Directory and DB Browser now a PAID app?

Wednesday morning we upgraded Jira Software from 8.13.1 to 8.16.1 in our development environment and noticed that the Home Directory and DB Browser app was not compatible. Fair enough, it happens sometimes.

To my surprise, I am prepping to upgrade my production instance this morning and suddenly, the app is no longer free!

Why the sudden change? I've noticed that since Atlassian announced the end of non-cloud products several vendors have switched to a pay model. To me this is just taking advantage of smaller companies that are already going to be struggling with the higher costs of switching to cloud.

I will be removing this app from my Jira instances. The cost is not worth the benefit it provides.
