HTML tags in "edited" or "updated" notifications

Alexander Raymukanov May 12, 2020

Hi,

we use Jeditor as renderer for several text fields (description, comment, etc) and standard Jira notifications.

If some one change such field, than in email notification (default setting for all users is installed to HTML) I see  not applied HTML tags

Only new comments are normal (with apllied tags)

From JEditor support:
"Some notifications (e.g. Issue Updated and Comment Updated) will keep coming with visible HTML tags. Jira uses a diff renderer to highlight changes made by a user with green and red background. This diff renderer cannot display changes in an HTML document and forces the plain text format. There’s a workaround to get rid of HTML tags in these emails:"
