Edit issue from dashboard in a popup instead of new tab?

When we click to edit an issue on Celix Column Order gadget, browser take us to a new page to edit it, 
can you edit some setting to edit an issue on a popup like we can do it in "Issue filter" screen? 

I love the way popup work!

Dear Long,

JIRA only makes the edit popup available in the issue view itself. This unfortunately means that we cannot open the edit popup straight from the dashboard . All of Atlassian's own dashboard gadgets exhibit the same limitation.
