×Hi have made an automation, using AUTOMATION FOR JIRA, which prevent issues from being moved to the sprint if they do not meet required conditions. I would like to display a message to the user that the action they are trying to do is not allowed due to scrum policies.
Is this possible, and if yes, then how?
Hey Martin,
John from Automation for Jira here.
There is a generic popup that lets you know an automation rule has taken place. However, it isn't possible to customize this.
Though not ideal, what you could do is make use of one of the other actions (i.e - comment on the issue, send Slack message, etc). This would be the best way to inform the user.
Hope that helps but let me know if you have any other questions.
Cheers,
John
Hi John,
Thanks
Yes - i noticed the other options you mentioned.
My automation moved the issue back in t the back log if it was moved to a sprint and did not respect the scrum policies. However the user would not see it before they reload the backlog, and would most likely think it was moved successfully.
So far, i have disabled the automation.
