CoreSoftLabs - Secure Fields

This add on, Secure Fields for Jira, appears to allow you to add custom fields and make them secure; however, does it allow you to apply security to existing out of the box Jira fields though?  Thanks!

This is possible by doing a database tweak:

select id, cfname, customfieldtypekey from customfield where cfname like '%YOURSEARCHSTRINGHERE%';

Note down the ID of your custom field. For me this was 12030, so replace this number with yours below.
My existing custom field was a text field, and I wanted to replace this with secure text. I did this with:

update customfield set CUSTOMFIELDTYPEKEY='com.coresoftlabs.secure-fields.secure-fields:secure-text' where id=12030;

I wanted to be able to use this field in searches, so I did this as well:

update customfield set CUSTOMFIELDSEARCHERKEY='com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.customfieldtypes:textsearcher' where id=12030;

Now, the old values were stored as "string" values but the new ones want to be "text" values, so I had to move over the data as well:

update customfieldvalue set textvalue=stringvalue where customfield=12030;

update customfieldvalue set stringvalue=NULL where customfield=12030;

I hope that helps.
