Connecting Sencha Test with JIRA

Hello there, I've started a test trial of JIRA in order to test its compability with our testing tool Sencha Test. Now Sencha Test offers JIRA integration over their visual application Sencha Studio, where I need to fill out a form in order to connect it to my JIRA. It contains the following fields:

Use OS keychain?: Y (?)

Protocol: HTTPS

Host: theNameIChose.atlassian.net

Port: 443 (?)

Jira API Version: 2 (?)

Username: myusername

Password: mypassword

Now I already manually logged in via the browser using the exact credentials I set in the application and it worked out fine. Does anybody know what could be the issue here and why it does not connect?

Hi @Marc Scheffler,

Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

Base on your information above and what that I found in the Sencha documentation I suspect that Sencha only support integration with Jira Server, not Jira Cloud that you signed up for.

Yeah that sounds reasonable; is there a way to test this, e.g. get a free trial for a jira server?

Yes, you can download Jira Server here, https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/download and get a 30 day trial license.

Great, thanks! I'll come back here once I figuered everything out.

Okay, so Sencha themselves say that they have trouble connecting to cloud hosts but generally speaking that should be possible. They have started further investigations regarding this issue
