The ScriptRunner IDEA Plugin is no longer in the IntelliJ IDEA repository for versions 2018.1 or later, as it is not compatible.

Although we are aware of the compatibility issues, I went ahead and created a new issue for you so you'll be notified when it's released. See https://productsupport.adaptavist.com/browse/SRJIRA-2807

I believe the IntelliJ integration only works for versions earlier than 2018.1, so you won't find it in the repository if you're running 2018.1 or later. If you are really keen on using the IntelliJ integration, I'd recommend installing an earlier version of IntelliJ and downloading the ScriptRunner IDEA plugin here:

Thanks for this. The page the OP mentioned should be updated to reflect this though, otherwise the page is essentially useless.

I was just getting ready to open a ticket on this...

Joshua Yamdogo @ Adaptavist  I wonder if it would make sense that Adaptavist publish Power Editor plugin source code so that community may maintain it - if of course it still provides added value compared to current development environment instructions: https://scriptrunner.adaptavist.com/latest/jira/DevEnvironment.html

Update.

The Scriptrunner plugin works with IntelliJ IDEA 2020. You can download the official file from here:

https://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/9751-adaptavist-scriptrunner-power-editor/update/76382

  1. Extract the contents of the ZIP file
  2. In the subfolder, open plugin*.jar with any archive manager
  3. Open META-INF/plugin.xml
  4. Change <idea-version since-build="193.5233" until-build="XXX" /> and replace the XXX with something stupidly high, for example: 999.*
  5. Save the XML file
  6. Archive the subfolder again
  7. Import into IntelliJ IDEA

That worked for me with: IntelliJ IDEA 2020.1 EAP (Community Edition)

Hi @scott_boisvert

I have had this as well. The first time it opened some pom.xml with information about Scriptrunner. I closed down the IDEA project, closed IntelliJ, refreshed the page with the scriptrunner code. Then I hit that button again and it worked.

It worked for me in Google Chrome on Ubuntu 19.04 and after a second or third try. After that it was instant each time.

Could you give it another try?

I gave it another try on a fresh install on my MacBook Pro, Catalina. Same thing; after the third time (refresh and click after closing IDEA) it worked. Now it works instantly when I'm pressing the Scriptrunner button that opens the IDEA.

Maybe it has to set some configuration the first time?

Tried several times, still no luck. Getting a javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: Received fatal alert: certificate_unknown error in the intellij logs.

So, as a follow-up to the above questions and comments, we officially removed support for the IntelliJ plugin in ScriptRunner 6.0.0. This was a tough call, and you can read our deprecation announcement for the rationale behind it.

We will continue to support and improve the in-browser Code Editor, as well as developing scripts using IntelliJ IDEA in a Script Plugin.
