Branch condition based on time/date/calendar?

I'd like to auto assign issues to service desk analysts, but they are in different time zones, is there a way to do this?

Thank you

Hi Dimpan,

You should be able to do something like that with the JQL Condition or Advanced Compare Condition utilizing the now minus or plus some time period function. What is the criteria you are looking at?

I would like to branch it out based on what time of day it is, like if its before 12pm EST during the day, or after

or if its a weekend

Thanks for your help

That should work. You can probably utilize the If/Then Else logic. Here is some basic Automation For Jira information to get you started if you have not used it yet:

There are two types of automation:

  • Global: In the Free version, you get 100 executions per product, per month
  • Project: In all versions, you get unlimited executions per month

Automation Basics: https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/guides/expand-jira/automation

You can do this via global rules to apply to all projects also. You'll need to be a Jira Admin/Site Admin, go to Jira Settings > System > Automation Rules (left-hand menu).

For more on using Automation For Jira see these help pages.
