Bigpicture - what's happens with the hours planned that are not registered in Tempo Timesheets??

Sandra Carrillo January 20, 2022

Hi,

We have integrated BigPicture Enterprise with Tempo. We know that the teams, the workload schedule and holiday plans are synchronized.

When we enter time in Tempo Timesheets, we see that the field "Time spent" increase. What happens with the hours planned and not entered in Tempo Timesheets?

For example, we plan a task with 8 hours/day effort for our resource. If the resource only enter 2 hours, what's happens with the 6 hours remaining? the end of the task move?

Thanks!

Hi @Sandra Carrillo

It depends on what Effort Mode is enabled. If you have the remaining estimate mode enabled, then BigPicture will display 6 hours for today and the future. But if you use the original estimate mode, the app will display the value of the Original Estimate field = 8h.

The task end date depends on what field is mapped in App Configuration. Please find more info in the article: BigPicture tutorial - Dates synchronization.

Thanks for your answer Anna!

We are looking for this article but the option "Time Spent + Remaining Estimated" does not appear.

For clarification, we have Bigpicture and Bigpicture enterprise on cloud.

Can you help us, please?

Thanks!

Hi @Sandra Carrillo

The option to map the End Date field to the 'Time Spent + Remaining Estimate' is not available at the moment due to an error. However, I am pleased to let you know that it has already been identified and fixed. The bugfix will be released in coming this week in the 8.3 version.

Hi Anna,

Thanks for your answer!

We have seen that we change the "original estimate", "remaning estimate" does not refresh.  Do you know if this is the correct functioning?

Thanks!

You are welcome @Sandra Carrillo

Switching between effort modes: Original estimate mode - Remaining estimate mode should trigger data recalculation. Please clear the plugin cache (App Configuration >> Advanced >> Clear Cache).

If this will not resolve the problem, reach out to our Technical Support via our Service Desk. This will allow our product specialists and developers to investigate your case individually and provide you with a solution.

Thanks Anna,

How can I clear cache of Jira? I've just cleaned cache of Bigpicture, but the behaviour is the same as commented before.

Thanks!
