BigPicture Task Mode Failed when switching from manual to auto bottom up

When selecting to switch from the manual task mode to the auto bottom up task mode, I receive an information note that is red and is in my upper right hand corner.  It says 'Update task mode failed.'  That is all the information I can learn from it and searching the web.  Can someone advise some options to try to fix this?  Thank you.
