We are currently testing Big Picture 8. I have set up a board where I would like to show the epics by planned version, and their dependencies.
However, when I try to establish a synchronization between the column and the field "Planned Version", it is not available in the selection of fields, neither is the field "Fix Version".
How can I achieve this, or do I have a wrong understanding of how this synchronization works?
@Softwareplant: how can I solve this? Thank you!
Hello @Martin Härri
At the moment, there is no possibility to synchronize the Board scope based on Fix Version. Please note that currently, you can use only the following field types: Sprint, Text, Select list (single choice).
However, we are constantly improving our products to make them even more effective and better adjusted to our clients' needs. Therefore within the initiative ONE-2308, we plan to introduce new functionality that will allow synchronizing Bord scope based on Fix Version.
At the moment, we don’t have ETA. However, you can follow the functionality development and follow its status in the ticket ONE-2382. Please note that it is best to open it in the incognito tab of your browser.
Meanwhile, I would like to present you with a workaround. Perhaps you will find it useful.
You can create a Custom Field text type (e.g., CF Fix Version) and map it to the "Fix Version" value using one of the automation tools (eg. ScriptRunner). Newly created Custom Field will be displayed on the list of available fields so you can use this field to synchronize scope with PI or Iteration. See my image as a reference.
In case of further questions - just let me know.
Best,
Anna/SoftwarePlant
Thank you, Anna, for the feedback. I think for the time being we will just compare the two fields and keep them manually in synch.
