Automation: Creating and deleting comments on field update

Edited

Hi,

want we want to achieve is, commenting on an issue if it's scheduled into a sprint AND deleting or editing the comment if the issue was removed from a sprint because JIRA doesn't post a new comment again, somehow.

Maybe there is an alternative.

What do we have achieved?

Comment if issue field SPRINT is not emtpy. That works fine.

BUT when we remove the issue from a sprint and move it back or to another sprint, nothings happens due to commenting before

This is how it looks like currently:

Is there anybody who can help us out?

Hi @Sebastian Pechhold

You can allow for multiple comments to be added to the same Issue using your Automation rule.

You just need to uncheck the box "Prevent duplicates by only adding this comment once in a particular issue".

On your second Screenshot, it's the checkbox just below the "Comment Body".

Let us know if you still want the edit/delete comment rule - or whether this is a better solution :)
