Hello,
Is it possible to attach file on issue creation with Automation for Jira in Jira Cloud?
Thanks in advance!
Hi Sandra,
Thanks for reaching out! Unfortunately we don't support file attachment just yet, but we are currently tracking this at https://codebarrel.atlassian.net/browse/AUT-1625 (you may have to log out or view incognito).
We do have quite a few higher priority items in our backlog at the moment so it may be a while before we can get this. However, once we do ship this, you'll get a notification.
Sorry I can't be of much help with this. Please let me know if you need anything else!
Cheers,
Jane (Automation for Jira)
Has any progress been made with this since 2019? I am trying to use Jira Automation to attach a document if a JQL query finds a word in the Description or Summary. I do not see an action to attach a document, however.
Thank you,
Scott

Hello, we need this too. Ability to add an attachment via Automation rules.
If there is an option for action to delete the attachment, then there should be option for adding it too. :)

+1 It would be great if jira automations could add an attachment of choice after ticket creation. another option would be to copy an attachment from a specific ticket
e.g. copy attachment from "ISSUEKEY" = XX-1234
would be some kind of a workaround but has the advantage that no attachment archive would be possible for the automation to access..

+1 for me as well! This would be nice for logging purposes. My work around at the moment is adding a custom field with a link to where the file is hosted.

This would be an important feature for us as well. Any update on when this will be added to JIRA server?
