Atlassian Plugin Framework additions licensing

Tomas Theunissen June 15, 2011

It is allowed to embed the Atlassian plugin framework in your own application. But what about additions to this framework, like Active Objects (and therefore also the Shared Access Layer)?

The Atlassian Plugin Framework is open source and essentially royalty-free for your use (note: I am not a lawyer). Check out the full licence details here: http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/PLUGINFRAMEWORK/License+and+Copyright+for+the+Atlassian+Plugin+Framework

Other supporting plugins like Active Objects will have their own licence terms that you'll need to chase up individually.

Thanks for your reply.

I found the license for the AO plugin, but could not find the license for SAL. Is there anyone at Atlassian who I could contact regarding this?

SAL is here: https://studio.atlassian.com/source/browse/SAL/trunk/LICENSE.txt

I don't know if you can access that or not, but the licence is pretty much plain-old BSD open source.

I can access that URL, thanks for your information!
