Hello @Tracy Moffat,
Approval Path works by defining a set of rules, or a "definition," for a particular approval process.
With Approval Path, you can define an approval process that will automatically select approvers based on the specific requirements of your use case. This way, you can streamline your approval process and ensure that the right individuals are involved at the right time.
Once the approval is completed, user can then change the date field, a record of all previous approvals is available for reference.
If you could provide a bit more information about your specific use case, I would be happy to offer more targeted advice.
@Parsa Shiva what we are attempting to do is to build out our plan with start and due dates. Any change to those dates by someone other than an approved date changer should require an approval from one of two people. Does this Jira app allow for also setting the number of approvers required to approve?
Example 1. we can have 2 approvers however, the user only needs 1 approval to move forward.
Example 2. Sometimes we may want to have 2 approvers and the user needs 2 approvals to move forward.

I have been asked to 'lock down' dates in a particular project. The PM would build the dates with the team. The assigned resource can only change the date on their own with the approval of that functional manager. Can I ask for some screen shots on how to do this?

Hello @Tracy Moffat
Short answer is yes, there is a conditions feature using Jira expressions where you can set those rules as conditions and create an automation for it.
