Unfortunately, Jira does not have the functionality to add extra fields to the project details page. We understand this would allow you to provide more context and important information about the project, so we create the following feature request to implement this functionality:

Custom fields for Projects

Feel free to vote and watch the suggestion to increase its priority and also receive notifications about any updates.

As a workaround, you can:

1 - use the default description field of project details to add the information you need

2 - Use a third-party app to add the field, like:

• Profields
• JIRA Metadata Plugin
• JIRA Project Specific Select Field.

Additionally, feel free to check the comments of the feature request to see the solutions achieved by other customers.

Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any option to achieve this behavior using Scriptrunner, but I must confess I'm no specialist.

That being said, I've properly moved this question to Adaptavist queue so they can provide you if there's an option to achieve it.
