why estimated time is not extende automatically?

When I log work for an particular issue, manually if i extend the remaining time more then the estimated time, then accordingly the estimated time should also get updated in time tracking, equally to that of extra time added,why estimated time does not update automatically?

If the case is estimated time to be fixed then there should be provision for adding extra space for estimated time

in terms of small chunks rather then reopening the issue to log work freshly, would that be convenient?
