where in jira can I find my project documents

I'm new to JIRA and new to a project, where are the documents for a project stored in JIRA?

They might be attached to an issue. You have to go to the issue details screen and see if there is an attachment. However, Jira's primary function is not to store documents (you can use Confluence for that). If your company is already using jira, they are probably also using Confluence and you can access it by adding /wiki to the URL of your company's JIRA instance
