This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Managing versions
is it possible to share versioning across multiple projects within Jira?
eg. We may want to organize our work into three projects: database, service layer and front-end. With this structure, we would want to map issues from those three projects to a single release (version) track.
I figured the answer out myself. Adding the same Fix Version to different projects works (but apparently there's no way to copy them between projects).
You are completely correct – They are specific to a project.
