We have one user that is setup, verified and belongs to the right group but cannot be accessed in system. We have tried deleting and re adding. Nothing seems to work. Jira will not let us assign any tasks to her. She simply does not show up in the drop down for assigning.

Hi Pat,

From your description, it seems that there are 2 problems - the user not being able to access the system, and you not being able to assign issues to the particular user.

For a user to be able to log into JIRA, the user must have the JIRA Users global permission, or one of the administrator permissions. You may find more information about how to give your users such permissions on the Managing Global Permissions document.

You can try to use the JIRA Admin Helper (Permission Helper) to identify why this user is not able to assign issues. You will need to select the username affected by the problem, one issue which will be used to validate the permissions, and the specific permission which this user is missing (from your description, the Assignable User permission seems to be missing).

I hope this helps.

Cheers,

Danilo

Work it back from the permissions - you say "right group", but that might not be the case. Go to the project, then open up the permission scheme, look for "assignable user" and check the groups/roles etc mentioned there.
