user coming up as null in emails from jira


When receiving emails from JIRA when a change/work has been started on a issue the user working on this is coming up as 'null'


"Work on AETBP-2 started by null."

Is there any reason why this appearing instead of the users names?

Hey Lauren,

Have you modified your mail templates? This can be potentially the root cause of the issue here and if so, please revert to the original ones. Other possibility would be any inconsistency on how the username values are stored on the database, in case it is not affecting all users.

I would also recommend you to open a support ticket at Atlassian Support Portal in case my suggestions above do not apply to your case, for a deep investigation of the problem.
