Please perform these steps on Dev environment first

  • Migrate JIRA Database from SQLServer 2008 to SQLServer 2012 by taking Full Database Backup and restoring it on empty database created on SQL Server 2012 following Database collation
    Refer tohttps://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/how-to-fix-the-collation-of-a-microsoft-sql-server-jira-database-776646810.html
  • install 6.2.2 on Windows Server 2012 with another empty database(zero data) created on SQL Server 2012 and go through set up wizard.
  • Stop JIRA Service, Go to Home Directory or Data Directory of this fresh install and edit the dbconfig.xml file with the restored Database name, username and password (which should be service account and not windows authentication)

  • Start JIRA Service and edit Base server URL do background re-indexing

Hope this helps
