I have an issue that I am guessing is a problem due to my lack of expertise. I have created a workflow scheme for my backlog and I have three workflows assigned to that scheme. So far so good. I have two boards, one board is to review/groom stories before they get to our scrum board. They have an overlapping status which is the end of one board and the beginning of the next.
My problem is that I plan a sprint on my scrum board with stories and all looks right, but when I start the sprint there are other stories showing up in the WORK tab that are not displaying in the PLAN tab. Some of the stories are closed or have other status. But, not sure why my PLAN tab and WORK tab don't match.
Any help, guidance would be appreciated.
My first thought would be when you are setting a resolution status in your workflow. Many of the built in JIRA reports and stuff in JIRA Agile will key off of the resolution status to determine whether or not the issue is 'open' or 'resolved'. If you are setting a resolution status too early, it can remove some of those items from your reports/boards. Not sure if this is causing this specific issue, but it's a common one when dealing with custom workflows.
Check your workflow transitions and see if you have post functions that are setting a resolution status to issues. (Most commonly shows up on the 'resolve issue' transition)
