sort stories by plan view priority in issue navigator

Hi

I'm trying to export stories from Jira to excel in the same order that they show up in Jira Agile plan view. "Order by Rank" doesn't work even though I found that suggestion in a few support threads. Here's the reason given by Atlassian why it doesn't work https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/GHKB/Sorting+by+Rank+does+not+show+expected+values

Is there really no way to order by backlog priority?

Yes, this is a significant shortfall of the product. I need to display our Product Backlog and export it to Excel for the benefit of Stakeholders, but you can't from the Plan. You can't order it using the Issues Navigator. Providing a sort order by "Plan" for the Backlog would be extremely valuable.
