receiving "connection failed" error when trying to create new Confluence space

I'm trying to create a new Confluence space from my JIRA Life Sciences Data Operations board.  When I click "Create" it gives a "Connection failed." error with a link to "Retry".  Clicking "Retry" I still receive the same error.

I've had other members of the board try to create it as well and they receive the same error.

Any ideas on how to resolve?

Having the same problem here; trying to connect a next-gen (project-managed) project to an existing Confluence page from the "Project pages" tab but It keeps saying "Connection failed".

I tried to do the opposite by connecting the Confluence page to the JIRA project, as suggested by Mike Bowen in this post, however the issue remains. Did you manage to solve your issue?
