Hi,

since about an hour our Jira installation yields …

Error: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.io.IOException: background merge hit exception: _8tjz:C156612 _8tk0:c1 into _8tk1 [optimize] [mergeDocStores]

… when closing an issue. The workflow step itself works, the issue is closed afterwards and integrity checks are all ok. So, besides the warning/error nothing else serious seems(!) to happen but of course we are absolutely not feeling happy. According to the hosting provider disk space is rather full but not to the very last bit ... Any other action (as far as tried) seems to run smoothly, there seems to be no slowing down.

Any other hints?

Thanks in advance
Philipp

The "full but not to the last bit" seemed to be the problem. After cleaning up the attachment folder and freeing disk space, everything resumed normal. Larger disk space to be prepared.

Thanks

Hi phi,

Upon the error, it seem related to file corruption in JIRA instance. Can you try to perform the following workaround to force JIRA rebuild the file again:

  • Shutdown JIRA
  • Navigate to $JIRA_HOME\caches directory, and remove the content of the caches directory
  • Restart your instance
  • Perform reindexing Administration > Indexing

Hope it helps.

Regards,
