Hi Atlassian Community,
I’m encountering a strange issue with a form I set up, which has been functioning without problems for longer than a year. Recently, however, I noticed some unexpected behavior. When trying to update the form, I discovered that the 'Description' field is no longer allowing itself to be linked to a form field, even though it has always been linked without issues in the past. This issue only appears with the 'Description' field, while the same linking method still works for other previously created and in use forms and also works for other mandatory fields (by Atlassian, such as summary) in a request form (See 3rd screenshot).
Additionally, when I open any of the other forms that have the 'Description' field linked, even if I make no changes and just attempt to save them, the system won’t let me save unless I first unlink the built-in Jira 'Description' field, which i linked to a field in the form. This is not the same behavior as when I created the form initially, something changed.
Has anyone experienced this change, and is there a known workaround for it?
I could unlink the 'Description' field, but I would prefer to retain the previous setup where I could control the placement of the description box in the form, and have the content filled out in that field be reflected in the default 'Description' field when viewing the issue as an agent in Jira Service Management.
I hope I’ve explained the issue clearly, but I’m happy to provide more details if needed.
Below is the error I receive when attempting to save the form while the out-of-the-box Jira 'Description' field is still linked to a form field:

Welcome to the Atlassian Community
A jira field can only be linked once in the form.
I see you have a description already in the Request Form below Summary.
Are you trying to link it in form again?
