"View Issue" Permission for anonymous user

Hans-Hermann Hunfeld December 18, 2012

As we re going to publish release notes etc. in our wiki also user without login can see these issues (authentification per LDAP). These persons are normally tester or project stakeholder, so they are sometimes interested into details of released issues.

Is there an option to enable them to view a particular issue which is available in a confluence page without login?

Thanks &regards,

Hans-Hermann

Use the "browse" permission in the project, and allow it for the group "anyone" (it's not a real group, it just means "let everyone do this without logging in).

Be aware that this opens up your project for anyone who can see your project, and they'll be totally anonymous, so be careful not to grant any other permissions to "anyone". The usual mistake here is that the workflow is left open as well - check that to make sure ALL the transitions have a condition on them (e.g. "user must be in one of the project roles" - anonymous will never be in a role)
