"No sub-task issue types are defined in this project" when creating automation

Qing Zhang November 11, 2019

Hallo all,

I have tried to create an automation for our jira project. The purpose of the automation is:

when someone create an issue, serveral sub-tasks should be created.

it should be easy, but i get this error message when i add "creat sub-tasks" component:

"No sub-task issue types are defined in this project. In order to use this action you need to add some sub-task issue types first."

But i think we do have Sub-task als issue type. I dont have global admin. I have only the project admin.

Can someone help? Thanks!

Greetings

Qing

I am having same issue, how can this be resolved?

I had the same issue. I'm global admin so without any permissions in project I was still able to edit project's configuration. I resolved no sub-tasks problem by giving my user (not the rule's actor) "create issues" permission for the project.
