Hello all
Our company would like a new field that allows us to prioritize all tasks in the backlog, between several different KANBAN projects. This field would work as a universal “This is the next task” queue for our developers, and would give us an overview of everything.
We would like for this new field to be called (say) ”Order”. This field would be a number between 1 and 1000, where the lowest number would be the top priority.
However, if possible, we would also like for this field to adjust itself automatically.
As an example:
We have a total of 4 tasks in 3 projects.
The ranking for each task would be as follows:
Now we add a 3rd task to Project A, and set it to Priority 3. Task 1 for project C (the “old” priority 3) would then automatically adjust to Priority 4, and so forth.
Thus, the new ranking system would be:
Would this feature be possible?
That's mostly what the ranking field does. There's no add-ons I know of that give you a next-in-line field, or duplicate the ranking, but there are some "queue" add-ons in the marketplace that could do what you need.
Hello Nic
Thank you for your quick reply.
Do you know if it is possible to edit the Ranking field to a more simple view? 1-2-3 and so forth.

It's not because the ranks are not numeric, they're an indication of the position of an issue in the global rank order, relative to the issue above it and below it.
