"Error rendering 'com.atlassian.jira.jira-view-issue-plugin:activitymodule'. Please contact your JIRA administrators."

We are using JIRA v1000.25.1 for defect tracking purpose. On of the ticket, we added some comments which was containing suggestion that has some technical script, which blew entire 'Activity' section giving this error "Error rendering 'com.atlassian.jira.jira-view-issue-plugin:activitymodule'. Please contact your JIRA administrators."

Does anyone has any idea about it? What steps to follow to restore back?

FYI - this error shows up only on this ticket only, where rest of all working fine.

Thanks for any help.

One of my users pasted a 3.5 mb comment in a ticket that messed up the activity stream too. I found out what ticket it was, shut down the server, hacked the comment out of the database and restarted it. However if you work in a 24/7 environment this might not be the handiest solutions.

Activity streams only contains x amount of updates, so by creating a ticket, adding a comment, adding a comment, editing a comment and so on a couple of dussin times, it will be naturally flushed out out the activity stream, and it will once more work. Not beautiful, but it works. smile
