publishing JIRA attachment into confluence

Manju Nambiar December 19, 2013

Hello,

Has anyone tried publishing a JIRA attachment into confluence as a web page?

We have JIRA 6.0.8 and Confluence 4.3.1 on our own instance. Both apps are trusted links. We would like to publish attachments from a JIRA entry as a confluence web page. This should happen when the JIRA entry is in Resolved status.

Thanks,

Manju

CLI Plugin for JIRA has a post function for doing operations on other servers like Confluence. Add the post function to the resolved transition. In particular, you can could addAttachment to a conflence page. However, to make this work, JCLI-460 will need to be provided so it is easy to get the issue attachments that need to be processed.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for your suggestion.

However, I am looking to convert the JIRA attachment into Confluence web page itself, not add the JIRA attachments as an attachment into a confluence page. I see that this plugin is able to create a confluence page (https://bobswift.atlassian.net/wiki/display/JCLIP/How+to+create+Confluence+pages). Please suggest if there is way to add content from the JIRA attachment into the new page.

Basically, the requirement is to read the JIRA attachment content, apply a confluence page template and publish the content as a new confluence page.

You would need to use storePage instead. The data in the attachment needs to be text or something that is meaningful to put on a page. Perhaps you would need to surround with a {noformat} macro.
